Postnatal infection typically causes biphasic aseptic meningitis with full recovery. Congenital LCMV causes severe neurologic birth defects: chorioretinitis, hydrocephalus, microcephaly, and periventricular calcifications — part of the TORCHS complex. No specific antiviral; supportive care and VP shunt for hydrocephalus.
